Postdoc positions are available in the Jose Pastor-Pareja lab at Tsinghua University in the School of Life Sciences and the joint Center for Life Sciences.
In our laboratory, we use the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a model system to study tissue morphogenesis and basement membranes (BMs). We pay special attention to Collagen IV, the main component of BMs. Taking advantage of the very refined genetic tools available in Drosophila, we are investigating the biogenesis of BM components, their assembly into a polymer and their roles during development, regeneration and cancer. A particular focus of our laboratory is the secretion of Collagen IV and other BM components. The huge size of these proteins challenges current models of how the secretory pathway works.
To apply for a position, please send a cover letter explaining relevant work experience and research interests, CV, and contact information of two or three referees in English by email to: josepastor@tsinghua.edu.cn. Questions about the lab and the position are welcome. (Laboratory official website: http://joselab.life.tsinghua.edu.cn/)
